376 <h3>Pawn peculiarities</h3>
379 <li>Pawns capture differently from how they move (straight
380 move, diagonal capture).</li>
382 <li>Pawns can move two squares straight ahead from their
383 initial position, provided they are not blocked.</li>
385 <li>On the move immediately after such a double push, they can
386 be captured en passant by another Pawn, as if they had only
387 moved 1 square ahead.</li>
389 <li>Pawns promote to another (non-royal) piece of choice when
390 they reach last rank.</li>
395 <p>A King that has not moved before can move two squares in the
396 direction of a Rook that has not moved before, in which case that
397 Rook is moved to the square the King skipped over. This is only
398 allowed if all squares between King and Rook are empty, when the
399 King is not in check on the square it came from, and would not be
400 in check on any of the squares it skipped over.</p>
402 <h3>General rules</h3>
405 <li>Captures destroy ('explode') both capturer and victim, and
406 also destroy all non-Pawns adjacent to the capture square.</li>
408 <li>The game is won by destroying the opponent's King.</li>
410 <li>Destroying your own King is not allowed.</li>
412 <li>Stalemate (no legal moves, but not in check) is a
416 <h3>Differences with FIDE</h3>
418 <p>Pieces explode on capture, destroying everything in the area
419 including themselves. You win by destroyig the King rather than
420 checkmating it; exposing your King to destruction is not
421 forbidden (just stupid).</p>
423 <h3>Strategy issues</h3>
425 <p>Since any capturing piece destroys itself in the explosion,
426 Kings can never capture.</p>
428 <p>A King taking shelter next to the opponent's King (which,
429 after all, cannot capture) is immune to capture, as such a
430 capture would destroy your opponent's King in the explosion. So
431 many end-games (even KQK) can be drawn by tailing the opponnet's
